I left my hometown at the age of 17 to enter one of the top 4 public art schools in Paris, the ENSAAMA (National School of Applied Arts and Crafts).
During the first year, I immersed myself in the diversity of applied arts: photography, nude drawing, clay modelling, painting, drawing… At the end of the year I got the opportunity to enter the two year program in Product Design, which had been my goal for years. Indeed I am passionate about creation, and I wanted to work in a concrete field.
I really enjoyed my two years there, learning to think in terms of concept, production, shapes and materials, targets, etc. But in the end it was all too stiff for me, I realized I needed a way to express myself without being constrained by needs or uses, I wanted to imagine « beauty for beauty’s sake ».
And that is what jewellery is to me : designing beautiful objects whose sole purposes are to bring joy, wonder. Of course during the three years I spent in the BJOP Private School in Paris, in the Jewellery Design course, I learnt that creating jewels has to answer to some requirements, just like designing products : targets, costs, manufacturing technics… But to me it is so much more fulfilling, if only for the pleasure I get from seeing my sketches turned into jewels I produced myself with patience and passion.
I am currently living in Bangkok, where I am looking for new opportunities.
